Lathe

Terms of Service

Last updated 30 August 2026

These terms cover this website and the purchase of Lathe. Your use of the software itself is covered by the End User Licence Agreement.

1 · Who you are dealing with

This website and the Lathe software are operated by Lathe Software LLC, a limited liability company formed in the State of Kansas, United States, on 13 August 2026 (Business Entity ID 10087878). References to “we”, “us” and “Lathe” mean Lathe Software LLC.

You can reach us at support@lathe-app.com.

2 · Paddle is the seller of record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns.

In practice this means the charge on your card or statement will show Paddle rather than Lathe Software LLC, and that Paddle — not us — collects and remits any sales tax or VAT due where you live. Paddle’s own buyer terms apply to the transaction alongside these terms.

We still answer your email. If something goes wrong with a purchase, write to us first — we would rather fix it than route you through a third party.

3 · What Lathe is

Lathe is desktop software for macOS that moves a person’s own music library onto their own iPod hardware, recovers it back off, and manages that library locally — playlists, ratings, play history, artwork and tags.

Lathe does not supply, host, sell, stream or distribute any music. It works only with files you already have and hardware you already own. You are responsible for holding whatever rights are needed for the music you use it on.

4 · Editions and prices

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax Paddle is required to add at checkout. These are one-time purchases. Nothing renews, and no version you have bought ever stops working. We may change prices for future purchases; a change never affects a licence already issued.

5 · Refunds

Thirty days, no questions asked. The full terms are on the refund policy page.

6 · Using this website

Don’t attempt to disrupt the site, gain unauthorised access to it, or use it to distribute malware. Beyond that there isn’t much you can do here except read and buy.

7 · Our content

The Lathe name, the software, and this site’s text and images are ours, except where third-party components are identified in the licence agreement. You may quote and link to this site freely.

8 · No warranty, and what we are liable for

The website is provided as is. Warranties and liability for the software itself are addressed in the End User Licence Agreement, which governs on that subject in the event of any conflict with this page.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9 · Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. A change never applies retroactively to a purchase already made.

10 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country of residence.
